Reebok Spartan Race Promo: Why not do something unpredictable?

I was having second thoughts about posting this when I got this email from Dan of Reebok Spartan.  The race will be in the US but why not? Some crazy (like me ehem..) might be interested.

The REEBOK SPARTAN RACE

Voted as the #1 obstacle race by Outside Magazine, Reebok Spartan Race is on a mission to get you active, healthy and excited about fitness.  It has been the global leader in obstacle racing since 2005.

If you are tired of doing linear races from 5k to 16k, this might be a good alternative.  With a combination of road and trail running and a variety of obstacle throughout the course, it is meant to test your strength, endurance, speed and dexterity.  You don’t need to be the strongest or the fastest, sign up and have fun while testing how unbreakable you are!
There have been a couple of adventure races in the Philippines but I haven’t joined any yet except for a short mud race during Brave Mudders last year.  Perhaps, there is nothing as extreme (or adventurous) as Reebok Spartan Race in our country yet though.  Is it worth it?

HOW BAD DO YOU WANT IT

Check out their website: http://spartanracemedia.com/ and see for yourself if this is the race for you.

I came across the blog of of Triathlete David Glover and here’s his reason for joining it the first (and second) time last year “After more than 15 years of doing predictable triathlon sequence of swim/bike/run, I find it appealing to start an event like Spartan Race without quite knowing anything about the course other than it’s about 9 miles long, hilly and filled with 25 obstacles that involve climbing, crawling, throwing and carrying.”…He won and ranked emerged on top.

Again, why not? As Green Day’s Good Riddance (Time of Your Life) says:

“It’s something unpredictable, but in the end is right,
I hope you had the time of your life.”
