I haven’t posted anything since April’s Rip the Road race. It marks the end of the busy tax season and the intense Crossfit Open for me.
Rip the Road was awesome as expected. Race management and the intimate ambiance at the finish line wins it. It wasn’t a great race for me with a frustrating finish time. It happens so I had to go back to the drawing board and check out my training plans. I tried to trail behind my super fast friends in some of their run workouts (At least until the point I won’t die without being suspected of committing suicide from running). Intense Training!

Chasing the Champ Arland Macasieb at the PAU T2N 50K Ultramarathon. That counts as a run workout, right?
Since it’s summer, most of my friends took turns vacationing from San Diego, Melbourne, Sidney and Singapore. My weekends were booked!

College best friend Jona. Our short get together was spent on the PBA court watching Siot’s Ginebra game.

Crazy Pico de Loro weekend. Thanks to Rovilson Fernandez. I’ll share more about the weekend of r& r and training in one.
It was a series of fun-filled and tiring weekends from mid-April until May; juggling training, work responsibilities and quality time with loved ones. Life Happens!
In the midst of it, there are things beyond your control….Setbacks may happen once in a while which might require you to slow down. It Sucks!

…..and take the real Rx and not the Rx of Crossfit and run workouts. (Rx = prescribed weight or intensity of workouts)

But we have to trust recovery will come. Hays, food poisoning! And thank God for the situation and for healing you out of it in His perfect time!

As I post this, I have my fingers crossed (or my legs in this selfie)! I had my first ‘okay’ 21K run this morning; slowest half marathon time for me. It was a great measure of how my GI trouble has improved from the past three Sundays.
It is never an easy task, being an ordinary person. But I’m here to reach the extraordinary goals I have set for myself. I am motivated to be a Warrior!
