I have read so many things about recovery. Recovery run. Recovery this. Recovery that. But sometimes recovery means following what your heart tells you so…
My body and mind is all set to do all my training and races as scheduled last week. Lucky me, with proper recovery gears and a good eating habit, I easily recovered from races which were only two weeks apart.
Each workout day though lacks my usual enthusiasm. I hate seeing the alerts on my training peaks!
Maybe, the tax season is stressing me out. Gah! Yeah!
Maybe, I am not fully recovered yet….
Or maybe, my heart is just saying No!
Whether I am training or racing I always make sure that my heart and mind is hundred percent into it. I chose to ditch the training plan and only did what I HEART for the week.
Short but high intensity met-con Crossfit workouts joined by friends who want to start/restart their fitness journey.
My bestee, Rhea, finally dropped by the house to start her road to fitness. It was fun sharing the pain!
A friend also wanted to get back in shape again and started by raiding our kitchen. The rice and Lays which usually get no attention finally got a fan. Now, how to out-exercise this…tsk tsk tsk…Well, she learned her lesson I think and has been eating healthy since last week and working out thrice a week.
Eat Healthy. Cook. Say no to Junk
Yes, I can say I love swimming now. (Just because I can slowly see progress!)
I still trained but not by what my schedule says. Run. Crossfit. Yoga. Swim. I did those last week because I want not because I have to…
Weekend came and that meant long training hours. For me, it is juggling training with store visits and hhmmm social life if there is hahaha….After a quite stressful day managing problems at the store, I decided to swing by the monthly Kapitolyo Crossfit Crew Birthday Celebration which was really fun! I had one or two or maybe three shots…to get a pass to go home earlier than everyone who stayed until breakfast (?)
So….I end up not waking up to my alarm for the race/training and having problems peeling myself off the bed until noontime….Maybe, I just need that break. Sleeping in, I miss! Gah! (convincing myself after seeing what a blast Mount Arayat was!)
Perhaps the only thing I regret is missing the inaugural Mount Arayat Race last Sunday. I have been looking forward to it.
I’d say it was a good week to empty myself up and be refilled again. BACK TO TRAINING!
To keep your balance, your mind, body and heart should be in sync. I try to, I am trying to…both in life and sports.
